Why Is Kelp Good for My Lawn?
In this edition, we’re introducing the secret ingredient that every lawn care routine should include: kelp. This game-changing natural resource, derived from sea kelp, is increasingly becoming a go-to for landscapers and gardeners due to its numerous benefits.
In this blog, we’ll explore why kelp for lawns and gardens is an excellent choice that delivers outstanding results, especially during the warmer months.
What is Kelp?
Kelp is a concentrated form of seaweed extract, harvested from the nutrient-rich ocean beds. This natural fertiliser provides the vital nutrients your plants need for optimal growth and overall health.
What Benefits Does Kelp Have for Your Lawn?
Incorporating kelp into your lawn care routine offers a range of benefits:
Strengthens Grass and Boosts Resilience: Kelp enhances the strength of your lawn by making it more resilient to climate stresses such as drought, heat, and frost. The growth hormones in kelp stimulate root development, resulting in healthier grass.
Improves Nutrient Efficiency: As a natural bio-stimulant, kelp improves nutrient uptake, making your soil and plants more efficient in absorbing vital nutrients. This can be especially beneficial for fertiliser efficiency and soil health.
Supports Soil Health: Healthy soil is crucial for a thriving lawn and plants. Adding kelp to your routine helps enrich the soil by encouraging the growth of beneficial microorganisms, improving soil structure. This leads to better root systems and healthier plants.
Boosts Pest and Disease Resistance: The micronutrients found in kelp improve a plant’s ability to resist pests and disease. By stimulating shoot and root growth, kelp helps your lawn become more pest-resistant and better equipped to handle environmental stressors.
Improves Stress Tolerance: Liquid kelp enhances a plant’s ability to handle various stresses, such as weather fluctuations, pest attacks, or diseases. By fortifying your lawn with this organic fertiliser, you’re giving it the tools to thrive in challenging conditions.
