Meet Matt – Our Senior Sales and Operations Manager

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our team here at Akers, Matthew – or as we like to call him, Matt. He joined us in November 2024, and although he’s a “newbie” to Akers, his wealth of experience in the landscaping industry is anything but. Let’s get to know Matt a little better!

 

A Little Bit About Matt

With almost a decade of experience in the landscaping industry, Matt has a solid background in sales and management. One of the standout moments in his career was heading off to Vietnam and Thailand with the Lawn Solution Australia team for an international study tour. While there, he got the chance to check out some world-renowned golf courses – talk about a top-notch experience!

If there’s one thing we love about Matt, it’s his willingness to learn and continually strive to improve – no matter how much knowledge he already brings to the table!

 

What’s Matt’s Focus at Akers?

As our Senior Sales and Operations Manager, Matt is focused on increasing the capability and efficiency of the team. His main priority is ensuring our landscape teams are working at their best, with the help of modern equipment like skid steers to get larger jobs done quicker. Behind the scenes, he’s also heavily involved in customer service, making sure our clients are always taken care of.

 

When Matt’s Not at Work…

Outside of work, Matt is a family man who loves spending time with his wife and three kids. Whenever they can, they head out to their shack in Morgan to enjoy a bit of skiing and knee-boarding or hit the beach. They also love exploring the beautiful Adelaide Hills, where they frequently go bushwalking.

And let’s not forget Matt’s passion for his garden. When he’s not at work, you’ll often find him out there maintaining his Tiftuf lawn and hedges. For Matt, it’s all about the simple things in life – like a lush lawn and a tidy hedge.

 

A Quirky Fact About Matt

He’s turned down – not once, but many times – VIP all-access tickets to events like Superbikes and ProMX motorbike races. Why? Well, because he’d rather spend his weekends tending to his garden! His family and friends still give him a hard time about it, but hey, we think it’s pretty great that Matt loves the garden life that much!

 

Matt is a true professional who’s dedicated to improving the way we work here at Akers, and we’re stoked to have him as part of our team.
